Edingthorpe Hall is a Jacobean Hall from the early 1600s built on over half an acre of land.
The Hall has been extended throughout the past centuries and was the subject of a complete programme of renovation and faithful restoration in the 1990s, which was carried out with great care to preserve and enhance as many of the original features as possible.
When we bought it in 2018, we undertook further renovation works to ensure our guests enjoy a comfortable stay. Since then, we keep continuously investing and planning further works.
Edingthorpe Hall offers the perfect balance between the warmth of a historic building with modern living – including broadband internet, central heating throughout, as well as secondary glazing in all bedrooms.
Living space
Edinghtorpe Hall is extremely spacious, starting with a beautiful large reception entrance which leads into the TV room, staircase and the rest of the ground floor.
TV Room
The TV room has the largest lead window in the property, and a great view of the garden. The room is perfect for family time with plenty of sitting space.
It has a 50” smart TV, soundbar and DVD player – as well as a large selection of films for the whole family.
The room has a huge medieval fireplace with a new wood burning stove.
Lounge
The entrance hall also leads into the oldest part of the house, with a beautiful inglenook fireplace hosting a wood burning stove as the main focal point.
The lounge, with plenty of comfy sofas, is ideal for a social evening or to enjoy a cup of tea in front of the fire.
There is a Bluetooth sound bar, ideal for playing music in the background and plenty of board games to suit all ages and group sizes.
The room also has a small study corner with a beautiful antique desk.
Dining room
From the main lounge, there is direct access to a large dining room that can comfortably cater up to twelve people.
Plenty of tableware, cutlery and glasses are provided to ensure you enjoy both food and company.
Kitchen & utility area
At the far end of the ground floor there is a fully working traditional kitchen with oak cabinets and an Italian granite worktop.
The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cookware, a new full size dishwasher, fridge freezer, and microwave. An AGA and a modern four zone ceramic hob provide great flexibility when cooking for large parties.
The boot room is a great way of accessing the house after a long walk, preventing dirt and mud from getting into the main house.
It doesn’t matter if you want to get changed into more comfortable shoes or dry up the dog – the back entrance is an incredibly useful space.
The ground floor also offers a small toilet and a small utility room, with a fully working washer-dryer.
First floor bedrooms
Edingthorpe Hall offers ample and generous accommodation in the first floor. With five double bedrooms (three of them with en-suite), a family bathroom with both bath and shower, a shower room, and a playroom for the kids there is space for everyone.
The stunning main large bedroom with dual aspect windows, has a four poster king size bed and a large en-suite with bath and shower.
The second bedroom, with a traditional brass king size bed is rather bohemian and still warm and comfortable. A shower room with a large shower enclosure and electric powered shower is just around the corner.
An ample corridor leads towards a third bedroom, with and a beautiful mahogany antique headboard with matching bedside tables. The room has an original Tudor fireplace which is, unfortunately, for decorative purposes only and can not be used.
Further on, there are two connected rooms with an en-suite shower room, a children’s playroom with a 43” smart TV and DVD player, and adjacent, the children’s room with two single beds.
A large family bathroom with both a bath and a shower can also be found on this floor.
There is a fifth bedroom and an en-suite bathroom located at the far end of the house, with direct access to it from the courtyard, instead of through the house. This makes a fantastic room for those wanting some time away from the rest of the group. The bedroom has a king bed, as well as an en-suite with an electric shower.
Please note, there is a second floor and an annex but these areas are empty and closed for guests.
The garden and grounds
The house is accessed via a driveway leading to a gravelled parking area. The garden is around half an acre of lawn, and with mature trees including copper beech, willow, oak and cedar trees.
A courtyard at the back of the house is also gravelled and it provides an attractive and secluded area ideal for those summer evenings. Here you’ll find a garden dining table for ten people, sitting area and a barbecue . Other benches and sitting space can be found across the garden.
Because we want you to enjoy the house at its best, we do not allow smokers.
